Friend of Eagle Rock Marine Sanctuary (FERMS)

We are about protecting and preserving the indigenous flora & fauna and natural features of Eagle Rock Marine Sanctuary (ERMS). We aim to increase understanding about the role and values of the Sanctuary, fostering community involvement and enjoyment through in field- experiences and knowledge sharing.

Reasons for starting a Friends Group for Eagle Rock Marine Sanctuary and surrounds –

• Protect and preserve Port Jackson Shark habitat
• Educate school groups and the public about getting involved in protecting and preserving marine environments
• Conduct Sea Search programs at Eagle Rock Marine Sanctuary with visiting groups and the general public
• Bringing together people from the community who are like minded and concerned about the preservation of ERMS. Participate in meaningful on ground and in water actions/projects to preserve this environment and educate the broader community.
• Create the opportunity for children to teach children about this environment (peer learning) encouraging stewardship behaviours
• Investigate opportunities for Indigenous engagement and interpretation of the Marine Sanctuary and the surrounding Sea Country
• Monitor pest plant and animals
• Monitor illegal activity (fishing or taking from sanctuary)
• Apply for funding for research, works and observations
• Monitor sites outside ERMS for a comparison between protected areas and non protected areas

Eagle Rock Marine Park Sanctuary

Located at Aireys Inlet, this park protects 17ha of ocean waters and projects about 300m offshore. Composed of both hard basalt and rubbly limestone, the cliffs are full of caves and ledges. The shore is covered with boulders and offshore there are two large rocks: Eagle Rock and Table Rock. Table Rock has been levelled by incessant waves whereas Eagle Rock is a tall volcanic stack capped by limestone. (Extract from Parks Victoria Eagle Rock Marine Sanctuary)

Aireys Firewood

At Aireys firewood we sell only top quality firewood at value for money prices.
We pride our self in reliability and good customer relations and communications.

We measure and sell our wood to you in cubic meter amounts, which is industry
normal practice. The benefits of this are you can be assured you get what you
pay for. You too can measure it.

Wood delived only by weight doesn’t guarantee this. After all, do you have a scale at
home that can weigh a tonne of wood?

All wood has an amount of moisture contained in it. Measurement by weight means
you pay for moisture as well as wood.

We want you to sit back and enjoy the warmth our fire wood gives you and your family.
