The Moggs Creek Moving Clickers’ 50th Film Festival Weekend. 7th,8th & 9th October 2016.

The film society had it’s origins as a group of film enthusiasts who gathered in a weekender in Moggs Creek in October 1957. As well as showing movies on 16mm they also made humorous “Perils od Pauline” type shorts on 8mm and !6mm. The Creature From The Creek is one that comes to mind. Nowadays we confine ourselves to screening movies though we number three professional filmmakers among our membership.

This year's festival takes place over the weekend of October 7,8 and 9 as always at the fabulous Art Deco cinema The Lorne Theatre where manager Tony Hill will screen seven movies for us at what is one of the last single screen cinemas still operating in Victoria. The theme, naturally enough is “Five decades of Film”. Friday night is free pizza night following the first movie. Saturday night is dinner (buy your own) at the Cumberland’s Horizons dining room preceded by a free cocktail for all who attend and followed by the fifth movie in our program. After the last movie on the Sunday we congregate at the Moggs Creek picnic ground for a traditional BBQ ( free bangers and burgers provided). It’s great convivial three days and at the bargain cost to attendees of $100 per person.
Registration forms will be available from the cinema and at the Tourism info kiosk, you buy a weekend festival pass for the seven movies (no individual movie tickets) with all the freebies thrown in.
